Simple Desktops is an ever growing collection of desktop wallpapers curated by Tom Watson. Thanks to him I finally have “simple” designs I’m happy with for my computer (that aren’t the default OSX ones.)

The new video for We Belong by Washed Out which is out now on Mexican Summer. The video shows how I usually dance in my house while listening to their music.
I thought it was time to recommend this application that has made my life 100% easier when it comes to keeping track of logins & passwords and other sensitive information for both work and personal things on my Mac. There are a lot of these types of programs but this is the most simple and works the best for me.
Wallet is a really simple organized notepad for all your sensitive information like website logins, email address login/passwords, bank account numbers, anything you want to store. It’s all protected by a master password with 256-bit AES encryption so it’s safe.
It’s easy to sync to MobileMe or WebDav (you can also easily Export the DB file or use Time Machine) to keep everything backed up and allows syncing via the iPhone app. It even helps you generate passwords that you use for signing up for a new site (so I save it then and there and it’s safe so I never lose it.) Once you have everything stored you can click the password and it will auto copy it to your clipboard to easily paste into the login field and also has Auto-fill for Safari.
You can get Wallet for Mac OSX ($20.00) and iPhone/iPod Touch ($4.99) which will sync with your Mac via MobileMe or WebDav.
Thank you to Brad for getting it for me.
Fantastic Mr Fox was one of my favorite films of the year. Wes Anderson really did a great job. Defgrip has compiled a lot of great things having to do with the movie including a behind the scenes video (embedded below) and a beautiful book that Pentagram put together titled The Making of Fantastic Mr. Fox: A Film by Wes Anderson which has beautiful stills, Wes’s notes, shows the making the characters and what else went into the movie, you can see some pages here.

Doodle Jump for iPhone is one of the cheapest and most played games on my iPhone. It’s so addictive and it makes me really upset when I fall to my doom, but I keep playing it. The game is simple, you just jump forever, that’s it. You can shoot creatures, use jet packs, spinning hats, while trying to get the highest possible score you can get by getting as high up as you can.
They tend to update this game more than any other game I have, adding little extras here and there. They even have holiday themed versions like the Christmas one where by entering your name as “Snow” it then turns into a holiday themed version where you can shoot snowballs, wear a santa hat and more.
Download it now at the iTunes App Store ($0.99)

I don’t think this is going to change our lives by any means but anyone with an iPhone might as well get this because it could help. Yes we’re doing AT&T’s dirty work with their new iPhone app “Mark The Spot” but as it goes with them everytime I call to tell them how terrible their service is they say “We have 3 towers right next to you so we don’t know why you’d think you have bad service.” and I say to them “Well, it’s terrible so do you ever actually send people where I am everyday all day just to check to make sure what you did is actually working?” AT&T’s response “No.”
So the moral of the story is I rather help them and especially not have to call them every month. I am pretty sure everyone in San Francisco at least will use this App once the first time they install it, report their location, which will span the entire 7 sqare miles of San Francisco and really not help but say all AT&T service sucks here but if it can help and it takes 2 seconds to do, we might as well.
Download it from the App Store.
Since it’s the holiday season, I just wanted to make sure everyone knew about the site Retailmenot.com. Lots of coupons giving you good savings that you might not have been emailed via retailers newsletters by each retailer, etc. I don’t buy anything online without checking out their site first (they have printable coupons too) so I hope it helps some of you who’d never heard of it.
