View this digital/polaroid series by Andy Bloxham. I have always liked the picture in picture style. This was done with a polaroid and then a digital photo.

Bryan Hollon (Boom Bip, half of Neon Neon) is another person I met while living in Los Angeles. He’s from Cincinatti, he makes the beats, produces records, has remixed some of my favorite bands, and just makes some really amazing stuff.
Listen at Myspace and learn more at Wikipedia.
RR: What are you currently working on or just finished that you’re excited about?
Hollon: I am finally at the point where Neon Neon has come to a halt and all my remixes and side projects are complete. so, i am sitting in my house everyday writing the new boom bip album. i can only do boom bip records when i am caught up and relaxed. i use home as inspiration for these records and like to capture a lot of sounds around the house to incorporate in the recordings. i am really excited about just letting whatever comes out to be recorded and thought about and edited later. it has taken several weeks to get to a point where i find a particular “sound” that i am going for and that just happened a few days ago! so at the moment i could not be happier or more inspired. i just finished a remix for oasis, empire of the sun, head like a kite and some others over the past few months. they should all be out by now.
RR: Where have you traveled so far this month?
Hollon: Last year was a huge travel/touring year for me. i was able to travel to japan, australia, brazil, france, spain, germany, belgium, england, ireland, scotland and wales in just the last 6 months.
Recently, i’ve taken two weekend trips with my girlfriend ali and my dog. one was camping in joshua tree state park and the other was a cabin in pine mountain club, california. complete opposite weather. we were snowed in for 3 days in the cabin, with little food. we had to be creative and conservative with our cooking but we managed to makes some amazing meals from scratch. it was probably the best vacation i have ever taken. the snow was incredibly comforting and made an already silent place deafening from the lack of sound. i want to go back and record some hippy jams with friends in that cabin.
RR: What’s your favorite music right now?
Hollon: My favorite music right now is probably revisiting a lot of the old stand-bys but focusing more on the production than the music itself. its an entirely different way to hear a record if you listen for the the technique involved. i am sure it is similar to film makers watching a movie and thinking about the effort put into a scene. i’ve really enjoyed listening to soft rock production lately, wings, alan parsons, etc.
RR: Best food you’ve had in your neighborhood lately or while you were traveling?
Hollon: The one that stands out is the red velvet cupcakes at lark bakery in silver lake. i think everything in that place is amazing. second, is probably cru, a vegan restaurant in silver lake. there were 6 of us sampling each others entrees and everything was delicious. the ironic part is that i started eating meat again recently after 15 years of being vegetarian. i had a kobe steak at the four seasons in santa barbara lately that blew my face off! it was amazing! once i heard the story of how kobe beef is produced i instantly went back to eating vegetarian. oh, and those octopus donut balls covered in eel sauce and fish flakes they have all over japan! takoyaki!
RR: Anything Else You Want To Mention?
Hollon: i have another huge project lining up as we speak. it will take place here in los angeles this year and will hopefully be the largest, most intense and epic project i have ever taken on. i basically want to harness the creativity of the community i live in and document the entire thing on film. i want film makers and musicians involved. i can’t say much at the moment in fear that i will jinx it but at the moment the sky is the limit.
