(Part of The Weekly Check In series)

I met Elizabeth in Boston when I was in photography school. She got way good at photography since then and I’m glad we’re now buds and keep in touch. She was just in San Francisco and we ate food.
Keep up with her photography at http://www.elizabethweinberg.com and her blog here.
RR: What are you currently working on or just finished that you’re excited about?
Weinberg: I just shot a bunch of fashion stuff for NYLON that should be coming out soon. And my first feature for Giant, for the October issue. Seeing my Dr. Dog photos everywhere this summer has been neat. And I took ton of photos in California that I love. I’m going to be putting all of my summery photos in a little book this fall.
RR: Where have you traveled so far this month?
Weinberg: Thursday I’m going to Philly to shoot the Spinto Band. That should be fun. I just came back from a trip to LA, San Francisco, and Big Sur. Big Sur totally killed it. LA is like a second home. Everyone’s rent is so goddamn cheap, I feel like a chump living in Brooklyn. Saw old friends and new, drove to Malibu Canyon Creek, and I didn’t even get a rash like you did!
RR: What’s your favorite music right now?
Weinberg: Deer Tick, Fleet Foxes, The Promise Ring, Bon Iver, Fruit Bats, and for some reason I couldn’t stop listening to Face to Face and the Descendents this summer.
RR: Best food you’ve had in your neighborhood lately or while you were traveling?
Weinberg: I made some damn good s’mores in Big Sur. I got really amazing candy at Miette in San Francisco. The burritos we had at that joint in the Mission were good, what was it called again? (This is Rubin and I forget too.) Auntie Em’s in Eagle Rock (LA) has the best steak sandwich I’ve ever had. If you’re in Brooklyn you’re a fool if you don’t drink Gorilla Coffee in the Slope or eat at M. Shanghai in Williamsburg.
RR: Anything Else You Want To Mention?
I now know Jon Cheese!
